A little information about me...
Hello, I'm Bob Gennrich and thanks for stopping by our website! I teach technology here in Anchor Bay. I have been a part of this district since 2002. I am very happy and excited to be part of the Anchor Bay family. Before teaching technology, I've also taught 3rd grade, 2nd, 5th, and kindergarten.
On a personal note, I'm married to an amazing woman named Meghan. She also works in our district as a 1st grade teacher at Great Oaks Elementary. We live in St. Clair with our three wonderful children, Gavin, Gracie, and Emmie.
I received my Bachelor's of Science in Education from Eastern Michigan University with specialties in social studies, science, computer science, history, and geography. I received my Master's Degree from Walden University in reading and literacy.
This year your students are going to have the opportunity to see how fun learning can be when using computers to enhance our learning. We start at the beginning learning internet safety, parts of the computer, computer etiquette, and how to use the mouse correctly. All grades will work on various projects using a variety of programs.such as grade appropriate coding tasks. Grades 3-5 will also focus on improving their keyboarding skills. . The goal is for students to begin keyboarding by touch. Another goal is to introduce programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft 365, and PowerPoint to the students through fun and interesting assignments that they will get to experience firsthand on their computers. When researching for different assignments they will have the chance to use the Internet while learning how to use it safely. I'm excited to help guide them through their time with me!
